Our story

Built around the clients other services find hardest to reach

How the practice began

Alicegate Foot Health Practice was founded by Nse Murray after more than twenty years in registered nursing. Those years were spent alongside patients living with diabetes, reduced mobility, dementia and chronic wounds: the same patients whose feet are most likely to be missed until a small problem becomes a painful one.

Qualifying as a Foot Health Practitioner allowed her to treat those feet directly, in the place clients are most comfortable.

Who we help

The practice helps everyone from age 10 to over 100: children and teenagers, working adults, active retirees, housebound and bed-bound clients, people living with diabetes, families arranging care for a relative, and anyone who simply cannot manage their own nails safely any more.

Specialist attention goes to nail conditions such as ingrown, involuted, thickened and fungal nails; painful skin problems including corns, calluses, cracked heels and verrucae; heel pain and plantar fasciitis; pressure ulcer care; and full diabetic foot assessment for nerve damage and poor circulation.

Where we treat, and what for

Every visit takes place at home, anywhere across Hertfordshire: Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, St Albans, Potters Bar, Codicote, Hertford, Stevenage and Borehamwood included.

The outcome clients ask for is always the same: walk without wincing, keep skin intact, and stay independent for longer. That is what treatment is measured against.

Our standards

Clinical standards in a domestic setting, without exception

Clinically led, fully insured

Every appointment is delivered by a qualified Foot Health Practitioner who is also a registered nurse, with full professional indemnity cover through Balens Ltd.

Assessment before treatment

Nails, skin, circulation and sensation are assessed before any instrument is used, so treatment matches what your feet actually need on the day.

Dignity for every client

Care is paced for older, frail, housebound and cognitively impaired clients, including bed-bound visits, with explanation at every step.

No travel, no waiting room

Sterile equipment, clinical waste handling and a full treatment set-up are brought to your living room, bedroom or care setting.
